Period Close Reports

Profit and Loss Actual v Budget Report

The Expansion Pack contains an example report that compares actual values against budgets.

To see this report:

1. Click the Reports tab.
2. Select the latest FinancialForce Period Close Reports folder.
3. Click the name of the Profit and Loss Actual v Budget Report.

As you can see, its filter criteria includes a separate line of each entityCollective term for the following predefined dimensions within your chart of accounts: account, product, bank account, and tax code. and dimension in a full accounting codeA combination of up to six elements: a general ledger account, a single entity and up to four analysis dimensions, as recorded on a specific transaction line item..

However, in your own custom report we recommend that you replace the entity and dimension lines with a single line that references an appropriate intersect definitionDefines the storage of actual period balances..
