What is an ERP Tax Code?

The Tax Codes object is a core component of FinancialForceEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Other FinancialForce applications use this object and add fields, buttons and functionality to it.

Each tax code normally contains one or more tax rates. FinancialForce applications can use tax codes and tax rates to calculate tax on documents. You can create tax rates to start on different dates. You can create historic tax rates and future tax rates for any tax code.

Notes: Notes Notepad
To calculate tax on a billing document, a summary tax code must exist on your Salesforce Org and the Summary Tax Code custom field in the ERP Billing Document Settings custom setting. This tax code does not require a tax rate. See Creating a Summary Tax Code.
You cannot set more than one tax rate for a tax code with the same start date.
