Embedding PSA Analytics Dashboards in a Lightning Page

Some of the dashboards within PSA Analytics have been optimized to be embedded in any page layout in Lightning. These dashboards are:

The following embedded dashboards are available after enabling the PSA Analytics Embedded Dashboards app in Feature Console. This feature requires the Winter 2021 release of Business Analytics or later.

Note:

You cannot save dashboard views when using dashboards created with the PSA Analytics Embedded Dashboards app.

The following options are available to embed the Revenue Forecast (Embedded) dashboard in the Services Revenue Forecasting Workspace.

Before running the App Template Design Wizard to create the Revenue Forecast (Embedded) dashboard and the Revenue Forecast dataset, you must carry out the following steps in the Services Revenue Forecasting Workspace:

  • Create Revenue Forecast Version
  • Recalculate Revenue Forecast

  1. From Setup, navigate to the Lightning App Builder.
  2. Navigate to the Services Revenue Forecasting Workspace.
  3. Click Clone to create and open a copy of the Services Revenue Forecasting Workspace in the editor.
  4. In the components panel search for the Analytics Dashboard.
  5. Drag and drop the Analytics Dashboard component to the new tab.
  6. In the dashboard panel, navigate to the Revenue Forecast (Embedded) dashboard.

Alternatively, you can embed the dashboard using the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Services Revenue Forecasting Workspace from the App Launcher.
  2. Click Setup | Edit Page.
  3. Perform steps 4-6 described above to add the Revenue Forecast (Embedded) dashboard to the page. This creates a version of the workspace with your changes applied to it.

To embed the Project Burnup dashboard in Lightning we recommend you create a new tab in the Project Lightning Page layout:

  1. From Setup | Object Manager | Project | Lightning Record Pages, open the Project Lightning Page.
  2. Click Clone to create and open a copy of the Project Lightning Page in the editor.
  3. Select the details tab component, then click Add Tab to create a new details tab.
  4. Click the new details tab to edit it and change the tab label to custom.
  5. Name your custom label "Project Burnup".
  6. In the components panel search for the Analytics Dashboard.
  7. Drag and drop the Analytics Dashboard component to the new tab.

To embed the Utilization Analytics (Embedded) dashboard in the Resource Management Workspace:

  1. From Setup, navigate to the Lightning App Builder.
  2. Navigate to the Resource Management Workspace.
  3. Click Clone to create and open a copy of the Resource Management Workspace in the editor.
  4. In the components panel search for the Analytics Dashboard.
  5. Drag and drop the Analytics Dashboard component to the new tab.
  6. In the dashboard panel, navigate to the Utilization Analytics (Embedded) dashboard.

Configuring the Dashboard Component

After the Analytics dashboard component is added to a new tab, you need to customize the component to display your data.

  1. Select the Analytics Dashboard to open its configuration panel.
  2. Search for and select the Revenue Forecast (Embedded) dashboard to display.
  3. Set the height for this embedded dashboard. We recommend you use 1200 pixels for this setting.

  2. Search for and select the Project Burnup (Embedded) dashboard to display.
  3. Set the height for this embedded dashboard. We recommend you use 720 pixels for this setting.
  4. Expand the Dashboard Filters section .
  5. Click Filter Builder, then click + Add Dashboard Filter.
  6. Select the Billings dataset.
  7. Select the Project ID dataset field.
  8. Select the Equals operator.
  9. Select the Record ID object field, then click OK.
  1. Select the Analytics Dashboard to open its configuration panel.
  2. Search for and select the PSA Utilization Analytics (Embedded) dashboard to display.
  3. Set the height for this embedded dashboard. We recommend you use 1090 pixels for this setting.

Finally, we recommend you apply the following settings to the Analytics dashboard component:

Saving and Activating Your Embedded Dashboard

To finish the embedding setup process, you must save and activate the Lightning Page:

  1. Click Save.
  2. Click Activate. You can now rename the copy of your app and select a different icon.
  3. Click Lightning Experience. From the duelling picklist, select the location in your org you want the app to appear.
  4. Click Save. You can now access your workspace and embedded app from your selected location.

Configuring Workspace Permissions

After creating your new workspace with your embedded dashboard, you must remove any permissions relating to the original workspace and then assign permission to the new workspace, using the appropriate permission sets.
