What is a Payment Template?

A payment template enables you to set the default values used to generate a payment proposal List of the accounts and transactions you are planning to pay or collect subscriptions from, on a specified date, using a specified bank account. including the following aspects:

• General Ledger Account

  Accounts that have the selected control account are listed in the list of accounts available for processing.

• Payment Currency

  Payments created from this template are made using this currency. The default is the bank account currency but you can change it to another accounting currency The currency in which your company does business. A company can have more than one accounting currency.. The payment currency is also used to filter the accounts or documents according to the currency mode.

• Currency Mode

  The currency mode determines how the accounts or documents are filtered. The selected payment currency is used to filter the accounts or documents to be paid. When the payment proposal is created, any transaction lines that use a different document currency are converted to the payment currency using the appropriate exchange rate. Currency conversion does not occur in document currency mode because all transaction lines included in the payment proposal use the payment currency as its document currency.

• Payment Method

  Accounts that use the selected payment method are available for processing.

• Selected Accounts

  Payment proposals created from the template retrieve available transaction lines for processing according to the currency mode and selected accounts:

  • In account currency mode, all available transaction lines belonging to the selected accounts are retrieved.
  • In document currency mode, only lines belonging to the selected accounts where document currency matches payment currency are retrieved.

The template also stores other default values for payment proposals such as the analysis accounts needed for currency write-offs and settlement discounts received, as well as any analysis dimensions.
