New Features and Enhancements in Financial Analytics
Spring 2022
The following new features have been introduced in the Spring 2022 release of Financial Analytics
Accounting 2022 Dependency
The Spring 2022 release of Financial Analytics is dependent on the Spring 2022 release of Accounting. You must install this version of Accounting to use the latest version of Financial Analytics. For more information, see
Improved Support for New Reporting Fields
We've enhanced the dataflow to include more reporting fields such as Corporate Periods, Currency, and Corporate Hierarchies.
Revenue Recognized in the Billing Contracts Dataset
If you use FinancialForce Revenue Management, your Billing Contracts dataset can now include the amount of revenue that has been recognized to date for each billing contract line item. The value is stored in the Contract Line Item Revenue Recognized field. This is populated from the field specified in the Recognized To Date Value field on the Revenue Management settings record for the Billing Contract Line Item object. For more information, see Billing Contracts Fields.
For more information about how to enable this feature, see Revenue Recognized in the Billing Contracts Dataset.
Revenue Recognized and Cost Amortized for Order Management
If you use Revenue Management, you can now include revenue recognition values for sales order line items in your Financial Analytics app. The Supply Chain Management Core dataset can now include the amount of revenue that has been recognized to date and the amount of cost that has been amortized for each sales order line item. The values are stored in the Sales Order Line Item Revenue Recognized and Sales Order Line Item Cost Amortized fields. These are populated from the fields specified in the Recognized To Date Value and Amortized to Date Value fields on the Revenue Management settings record for the Sales Order Line Item object. For more information, see Supply Chain Management Core Fields.
When the fields are available in the Supply Chain Management Core dataset, the Order Management dashboard automatically includes the Recognized and Amortized values. For more information, see Using the Order Management Dashboard.
For more information about how to enable this feature, see Revenue Recognized and Cost Amortized for Order Management.
Improved Support for Multiple Currencies in the Order Management Dashboard
If your org is configured to support multiple currencies, the Order Management dashboard now contains the Currency drop-down selector. You can use the selector to change the currency that the values are displayed in. You can select any of the active Salesforce currencies in your org.
If you are viewing the dashboard from the engagement record page, the values are displayed in the currency of the engagement record by default. If the dashboard contains data for multiple engagements, the values are displayed in the corporate currency by default. This might happen, for example, if you are viewing the dashboard from the account record page, Analytics Studio, or a workspace.
To support this feature, we have replaced the Common Metadata dataset with the new Currencies dataset. For more information, see Currencies Dataset Output Fields (Financial Analytics).
FinancialForce Planning in the Financial Balances Dataset
If you use FinancialForce Planning, your Financial Balances dataset can now include the budget information and generate a balance report. In this release, several fields are added to the Financial Balances dataset, and values of fields are stored in the Tag object. For more information, see Tag Fields.
For more information on FinancialForce Balances and FinancialForce Balances Input, see Financial Balances Fields and Financial Balances Input Fields in the Business Analytics Help.
Aged Analysis
We have enhanced the Financial Statements App to include Age Analysis dashboards and datasets. We have also changed the chart type for the Aging by Account chart form a treemap into a pie chart.
Localization Dashboards - France and Spain
When generating the following reports, the local general ledger accounts are now also included:
- Bilan Actif et Passif
- Compte de Résultat de l'Exercice
- Balance de Situación
- Cuenta de Pérdidas y Ganancias Dashboard
This now means that if you have subsidiaries in France or Spain, you can benefit from this enhancement, enabling you to drill on local general ledger account transactions. Previously, this functionality was only available if you were using corporate general ledger accounts.
Swedish Localization Report
If you are using the localization functionality for Sweden in FinancialForceAccounting, the following fields have been added to the Financial Balances and Financial Transactions datasets:
- Last Modified By
- Last Modified Date
This will ensure that the audit file information is in compliance with the Swedish tax authorities.
