What is a Reporting Label?

A reporting labelClosed A library of reusable text to be made available to a reporting template. is a container for simple text to be made available to a reporting templateClosed The Visualforce page on which the report is based.. You can use reporting labels to define items such as calculated column labels and user notes.

Reporting labels are also used to define section headings in the S2S Statement of Functional Expense reporting template.

You can use undefined reporting labels to record notes about your own use of a report and its customizations.

There are three predefined template keys for labels related to the record count feature on selected Detail report templates:

You must use Template AClosed TF000000000000A or Template BClosed TF000000000000B to take advantage of the count feature on detail reports.

S2S Statement of Functional Expense Section Headings

Section headings are used to group the columns in the S2S Statement of Functional Expense reporting template. Each section heading can have up to four subsections.

The default section headings and their pre-defined subsections are detailed in the following table.

You can customize the section headings and add or modify subsections.

There are four pre-defined section headings for the S2S Statement of Functional Expense reporting template. You can customize these section headings as required.

To customize section headings:

  1. Open the reporting definitionClosed The top-level object from which reports are run. from the Reporting Definitions tab.
  2. In the Reporting Labels related list, click Edit next to the name of a reporting label.
  3. Edit the details for the section heading:
    • Reporting Label Name: the name of the label.
    • Value: the name of the section heading. This name is visible in the report.
    • Template Key: an identifier used to refer to the label. Standard section heading template keys are L41 to L44. The template keys for Total subsections are L48 to L49.
  4. Click Save.

When you next open or refresh the report in your org, changes to the section headings are displayed.

Each section heading can have up to four subsections.

To add or modify subsections:

  1. Open the reporting definition from the Reporting Definitions tab.
  2. In the Reporting Data Ranges related list, click the related reporting data rangeClosed Defines the 'pot' of data to be reported on. to open it.
  3. In the Reporting Filters Mapping related list, either:
  4. Add or edit the details for the subsection:
    • Reporting Filter Mapping Name: the name of the subsection. This name is visible within your report.
    • Reporting Filter: the name of the reporting filter the subsection belongs to.
    • Type: the type of section the subsection belongs to. As section headings are only applicable for columns, select Column.
    • Template Key: the identifier which corresponds with the selected type. As section headings are only applicable for columns, select a Column type template keyClosed The reference that the reporting template uses to retrieve the data for the report. from A to Z. The template key corresponds with the location of subsections in your report. Each section heading can have up to four subsections, for example, A to D, E to H, and so on.
  5. Click Save.

When you next open or refresh the report in your org, the subsections that you added or modified are displayed.
