Applying a Pricing Structure

To apply a pricing structure to an existing contract line item:

  1. From the Billing Contract Detail page:
    • In Lightning Experience, click on the contract line item you want to edit, then click Edit.
    • In Classic, click Edit next to the contract line item you want to edit.
  2. In the Pricing Information section, click in the Pricing Structure field.
  3. Enter the name of the pricing structure you want, or click the lookup icon Salesforce Lookup Icon magnifying glass to search for it.
  4. When you have selected the appropriate pricing structure, save the contract line item.

You can add or edit quantity breaks by clicking on the pricing structure to open it in another tab, then using the Quantity Breaks related list to add new quantity breaks or edit existing ones. For more information about quantity breaks, see Pricing Structures.

  1. Click Edit on the enhanced Billing Contract Detail page so that the contract and its line items become editable.
  2. If the contract line item's Pricing Type is "Fixed", change it to "Volume" or "Tiered".
  3. To add quantity breaks to the pricing structure, click the Unit Price field on the contract line.
  4. Enter a Unit Price for the first quantity break.
  5. Add the remaining quantity breaks for your pricing structure:
    1. Click Add or use the Tab key on your keyboard to enter the next quantity break.
    2. Enter the Quantity for the price break.
    3. Enter the Unit Price for the Quantity.
    4. Repeat these steps for each quantity break you want to add.
    5. To remove a quantity break, click the remove icon Delete Icon next to the quantity break you want to remove.
  6. Click Update.
  7. Click Save.
Notes:

When you use the enhanced Billing Contract Detail page to create a contract line item for a product that is in a price book with a price book structure entry, a copy of the related pricing structure is applied to the contract line item. Editing the pricing structure on a contract line item does not change the pricing structure applied to a price book.

If the same pricing structure is applied to several contract line items and the quantity breaks on one of the contract lines is changed using the enhanced Billing Contract Detail page, a new pricing structure is created for that contract line item.
