Fixed Asset Management Custom Settings
Some aspects of Fixed Asset Management are controlled by custom settings. From Setup, click Develop | Custom Settings. You must be signed in with System Administrator permissions to change these settings. See the Salesforce Help for information on how to maintain custom settings.
Custom Field | Description |
---|---|
Check Mandatory Fields on Save | Indicates whether the Asset Cost and Date Acquired fields must contain a value before you can save, update or submit an asset for approval. By default this setting is ON. |
Dep Book Extra Query Fields Class Name | Name of an Apex class that extends the DepreciationBookQueryFields class. Use this class to extend the queries of the Depreciation Book object for custom fields that you have added, which your depreciation calculation implementation relies on. See Depreciation Method Fields and the Fixed Asset Management API Help. |
Disable Accounting Journal Auto Creation | If selected, prevents Fixed Asset Management from creating journals automatically when approving an asset, exporting a depreciation schedule, or disposing of an asset. If deselected, journals are created automatically when approving an asset, exporting a depreciation schedule, or disposing of an asset. To use this field, you must enable the Accounting Integration feature. When the feature is enabled, this field is deselected by default. |
Disable Accounting Validations | If selected, ignores the Accounting fields when saving a fixed asset. If deselected, makes the Accounting Company and GLA fields mandatory to save an asset. |
Ignore Validation of FFA fields in FAM | Ignores validation of Accounting fields when saving a fixed asset. When validation is applied, the fixed asset's Accounting company and GLA fields must be populated on the fixed asset itself, or on the asset's sub-group or group. This validation avoids journal creation failing because of missing data. By default this setting is OFF, meaning that the validation is applied. |
Inherit Values from Parent | Indicates whether assets inherit depreciation books from their sub-group or group. When enabled, an asset will inherit depreciation books from its sub-group unless there are no books at the sub-group level, then it will inherit depreciation books from its group. When selected, the Inherit Values from Parent checkbox on fixed asset records is automatically selected. See Grouping Assets for more information. |
Lock Dep Schedule Status & Active Fields | If selected, prevents the user from manually updating the Depreciation Schedule Status and Active fields. |
Validate Status Field | If selected, the Status field is validated. This is the default. If deselected, the Status field is not validated. |
