Linking Project Methodologies to Assignments

You can link one or more assignments to a project methodology. You can also unlink assignments from a project methodology.

Linking Assignments

To use the PSA Link Project Methodology To Assignments Lightning component, you must add it to your Project Methodology Lightning record page. For information, see "Lightning App Builder" in the Salesforce Help.

Note:

The columns displayed for the list of linked records in the PSA Link Project Methodology To Assignments Lightning component and the lookups where you select records to link are not configurable. Record names are displayed in alphabetically ascending order.

To link one or more assignments to a project methodology:

  1. Display the project methodology record page you want to link assignments to.
  2. Navigate to the Assignments Linked To Project Methodology section. If you are using our default page layout, this section is on the Linked Assignments tab.
  3. Click Link Assignments on the Assignments Linked To Project Methodology section. A list of available assignments not yet linked to the project methodology are displayed in the Link Assignments window.
  4. In the Link Assignments window, select the checkboxes of the assignments that you want to link to the project methodology.
  5. Click Save. A confirmation message confirms that the linking was successful.

Unlinking Assignments

To unlink one or more assignments from a project methodology:

  1. Display the project methodology record page you want to unlink assignments from.
  2. Navigate to the Assignments Linked to Project Methodology section. If you are using our default page layout, this section is on the Linked Assignments tab.
  3. On the Assignments Linked to Project Methodology section, select the assignments you want to unlink.
  4. Click Unlink Assignments. A confirmation message confirms that the unlinking was successful.

Linking Assignments Using the Link Methodology to Assignment Page

To link a project methodology with assignments on the Link Methodology to Assignment page:

  1. Click Link to Assignments on the Project Methodology Detail page of the project methodology to which you want to link to assignments.
  2. Select the checkbox of the assignments that you want to associate with the project methodology.
  3. If you want to remove an association with an assignment, clear the checkbox of that assignment.
  4. Click Done.
  5. If there are unsaved changes, a confirmation popup appears. To save your changes and return to the Project Methodology Detail page, click Save and Continue. To discard your changes and return to the Project Methodology Detail page, click Continue without Saving.
