Skills Management Settings

The Skills Management custom settings determine the behavior of records associated with skills management.

Note: We do not recommend creating a subset of the custom settings for a user or profile. If you do have to create a subset for some reason, check that all the settings selected or enabled for your org are reflected in the subset to ensure uniform behavior.

Key: Descriptions of checkbox settings describe the selected (true) case.

Add Skills - Filter Field Set	API name of a field set used by the Skill object. This field set defines the add skill filters for the Add Skill/Certification window in the Manage Skills and Certifications component.	-
Display Evaluate Skills Button	Indicates the Evaluate Skills button is visible on the Manage Skills and Certifications component.	false
Enable Desirable Skills	When selected, allows you to mark skills as essential or desirable when creating, filtering, managing, and updating resource skill requests.	false
Enable Experience	Indicates the experience a resource has in using a skill is displayed in the Manage Skills and Certifications Lightning component.	true
Outdated Skills Threshold in Days	The number of days within which a skill / certification rating must be updated before it is identified as outdated. If a skill / certification rating is outdated, this triggers the Einstein Next Best Action - Update Skills feature.	42
Override Skill Zones	Indicates you can override the Disregard Skill Zones configuration option and Restrict Skills and Skill Sets by Role custom setting when retrieving the skills and skills set records required to run the Apply Skills functionality on the Mass Manage Resources Skills page. By default, it is enabled.	true
Restrict Skills and Skill Sets by Role	Indicates that only skills and skill sets associated with the resource's role or without any associated role are displayed. This reduces the number of skill sets and skills displayed when adding skills and certifications for a resource.	false
Restrict to Skills with Existing Rating	Indicates that only skills and certifications for which the related resource has a corresponding skill / certification rating record are displayed. This reduces the number of skills and certifications available for selection on an experience record.	false
Skills Custom Lookup Columns	API name of a field set used by the Skill / Certification object. Columns added to this field set are displayed in the Skills/Certifications grid in the lookup dialog.
Skill Sets Custom Lookup Columns	API name of a field set used by the Skill Set object. Columns added to this field set are displayed in the Skill Sets grid in the lookup dialog modal.
