Integration Hub Connector: Jira - PSA Custom Setting

Use these custom setting fields to configure the Integration Hub Connector: Jira - PSA. For more information about the connector, see Configuring the Integration Hub Connector: Jira - PSA Custom Setting Fields.

Notes:
  • Some fields populate automatically when you perform Feature Console steps.
  • If you edit any of the custom setting fields after activating the connector, you must deactivate the relevant workflows via the Feature Console and activate them again.

Email address that error notifications are sent to if the integration fails.

Notes:
  • If an error occurs while syncing work logs to timecards or task time records, the error notification is sent to the PSA resource linked to the Jira user who logged the time. Similarly, if an error occurs while syncing issues to project tasks, the error notification is sent to the PSA resource linked to the Jira user who created, update, or deleted the issue. The custom setting email is only used if the Email field on the PSA resource is blank.
  • If an error occurs during any of the following workflows, the error notification is sent to the PSA user who created or updated the record.

Jira Issue Status Category

Determines the category of Jira issue statuses used for updating PSA projects. Once a Jira issue linked to a PSA project is moved to a status that belongs to this category, the related project's mapped field is updated with the value defined in PSA Field Value for Updating Projects. The project field is mapped in the PSAJiraProjectIssue JiraIssueStatus record of the IHC Mapping Jira to PSA custom metadata type.

The default value is "Done".

Note:

This is only applicable if Map PSA Projects to Jira Issues is selected and the Update PSA Projects Based on Jira Issue Status workflow is enabled via the Feature Console.

Jira Issue Type

Type of Jira issues PSA projects are synced to.

The default value is Epic.

Notes:
  • The issue type must exist in your Jira application.
  • This value is case-sensitive.
  • If you keep the default value, you might also need to configure the Epic Name mapping. For more information, see Example 1 - Map Project Name to Epic Name.
  • This is only applicable if Map PSA Projects to Jira Issues is selected and the Sync Projects from PSA to Issues in Jira workflow is enabled via the Feature Console.

Jira Welcome Email for Synced Resources

Indicates that the users created in Jira via the connector receive an automated welcome email with their username and a link to reset their password, where applicable.

This is deselected by default.

Map PSA Projects to Jira Issues

When selected, PSA projects are mapped to Jira issues instead of Jira projects. This enables you to:

  • Sync PSA projects to Jira issues.
  • Update a PSA project field based on a Jira issue status.
  • Manually correlate PSA projects with Jira issues for syncing time from Jira.

The type of Jira issue is determined by the value of the Jira Issue Type field.

This is deselected by default.

Update PSA Projects Based on Jira Issue Status

Max Resource Days Per Week

Default maximum number of timecard and task time days, from the week start day, that time can be logged against each week for a resource. The week start day is defined in the Week Start Day field on the Timecard Entry UI Global custom setting.

You can enter a whole number from 1 to 7. For example, if the week start day is set to Monday, enter 5 to enable time logging for Monday to Friday. The default value is 5.

Note:

This value is only used if the resource who logs time doesn't have a work calendar linked to it.

Max Resource Hours Per Day

PSA Field Value for Updating Projects

Determines the value with which a mapped project field is updated when a Jira issue is moved to a status that belongs to the category defined in Jira Issue Status Category. The project field is mapped in the PSAJiraProjectIssue JiraIssueStatus record of the IHC Mapping Jira to PSA custom metadata type.

The default value is true.

This is only applicable if Map PSA Projects to Jira Issues is selected and the Update PSA Projects Based on Jira Issue Status workflow is enabled via the Feature Console.

Parent Issue Field

Name of the Jira custom field used for linking an issue of the type Epic or higher to a parent issue type. The relationship can have multiple levels, but the issue type defined in Jira Issue Type is the highest one taken into account.

The default value is Parent Link.

Notes:
  • The custom field must exist in your Jira application and it must be a text field.
  • This value is case-sensitive.
  • If you are syncing PSA projects to epics, you don’t need to enter a value for this field.
  • This is only applicable if Map PSA Projects to Jira Issues is selected and the Sync Projects from PSA to Issues in Jira workflow is enabled via the Feature Console.

Project Task Jira Issue Types

This field is used in the following scenarios:

  • When Use PSA as Source for Project Task Sync is deselected and the Sync Issues from Jira to Project Tasks in PSA workflow is enabled. Determines the types of Jira issues that are synced to PSA project tasks.
  • When the Sync Work Logs from Jira to Task Time Records in PSA workflow is enabled. Determines the types of Jira issues eligible for creating task time records. When work is logged against issues of these types, a task time record is also created or updated in PSA.

When entering the value, separate multiple issues with commas, for example, Task, Story, Sub-task

Use Jira Cloud

Determines the version of the Jira application provided in the Jira Application URL field:

  • Jira Server when this field is deselected.
  • Jira Cloud when this field is selected.

This is deselected by default.

Note:

If you switch from Jira Server to Jira Cloud or vice versa after having activated the connector, you must contact Customer Support and perform Feature Console steps 5, 6, and 7 again.

Use PSA as Source for Project Task Sync
Note:

If you are not interested in the synchronization between project tasks and issues, ignore this field.

Determines the direction of the synchronization between project tasks and issues:

  • PSA project tasks are synced with Jira issues when this field is selected.
  • Jira issues are synced with PSA project tasks when this field is deselected.

This is selected by default.

Note:

Regardless of the value of this field, you must enable the relevant workflow using the Feature Console for the synchronization to work.
