Setting up the Foundations Exchange Rates Integration

Warnings:
  • You cannot revert this feature once you have enabled it. Ensure that you have tested the functionality in your sandbox org before enabling.
  • Before you enable this feature, ensure that it is compatible with any custom applications on your org. Contact your Certinia Product Services representative or Certinia Support for more details.
  • Do not enable Foundations Exchange Rates Integration if you are using the Cash Entry Extension application.

The Foundations Exchange Rates Integration feature configures your org to enable you to record and manage exchange rates for Accounting in Foundations.

Notes:
  • All exchange rates that are created automatically when you enable the Foundations Exchange Rates Integration feature use "Commercial" as the exchange rate type. Currently, Accounting primarily uses the rate type "Commercial", so ensure that you create a "Commercial" rate type for all new exchange rates that you add.
  • To use Foundations currency and exchange rate features, you must have Salesforce multiple currencies functionality enabled in your org. See the Salesforce Help for more information about enabling multiple currencies functionality.
  • If your org has multiple dual currencies that have been assigned to companies which are set up to use org-wide exchange rates, the Foundations exchange rates integration feature will skip some of the automatic set up steps. You will need to complete those manually. See Enabling the Foundations Exchange Rates Integration Feature for more details.

To use currency and exchange rate features, you must have Salesforce multiple currencies functionality enabled in your org. See the Salesforce Help for more information about enabling multiple currencies functionality.

When you have enabled the Foundations Exchange Rates Integration feature, you can no longer record exchange rates directly in Accounting.
