Creating an App from the Intelligence Analytics Template

The app template for Intelligence Analytics enables you to generate an app that contains a dashboard and a dataset. The configuration wizard allows you to select your Financial Analytics app and prediction definition and enter the number of day ranges for the collections and payments aged analysis reports.

The length of time for your first Intelligence Analytics app to be generated depends on the volume of information stored within your org and whether you have turned on specific features in Analytics.

By default, the Data Sync and Incremental Load features are turned off in Analytics. Turning these features on can improve the performance of the app generation. If the app takes a long time to be generated, contact Customer Support. Refer to the Salesforce Help for Analytics for more information about these features.

During the Intelligence Analytics configuration wizard, you must select the API name of your existing Business Analytics apps. We recommend that you retrieve the name before starting the configuration wizard.

To retrieve the API names of your existing Financial Analytics apps:

  1. In Analytics Studio, open your existing Financial Analytics app.
  2. Open the Details tab. The System Name field contains the API name of your app.

To create an app using the Intelligence Analytics template:

  1. Click Create in Analytics Studio.
  2. Click App.
  3. Select the Intelligence Analytics template, then click Continue.
  4. Provide your answers to each question. For a list of the questions included in the configuration wizard, see Configuration Wizard Questions.
  5. Name your app, then click Create.

Your app is now available from the App Launcher. You can view the app from the Analytics tab, or edit it from Analytics Studio.

By default, when you generate an app the sharing settings are set to private. To give access to other users, click . This opens the app's Give Access tab. For more information about sharing Analytics apps, see the Salesforce Help.

Tip:

To ensure that your data is always up to date, we recommend that you schedule jobs to run the recipe. For more information on scheduling a recipe to run automatically, see the Salesforce Help.

Warning:

You must ensure that the Intelligence Analytics recipe runs after the Financial Analytics recipe and dataflow. Otherwise, the data might not refresh properly.

To create your app, you must provide responses to the following questions in the configuration wizard:

1 Which version of the Financial Analytics app would you like to use in the app you're creating now?

Select the Financial Analytics app that you want to retrieve the Financial Matching, Financial Periods, and Financial Transactions datasets from.

Note:

Even if an Financial Analytics app does not include the three datasets, it is available for selection in the question. You can select the app and create your Intelligence Analytics app but the recipe does not work. Therefore, we recommend that you do not move datasets to another app.
2 Which prediction definition do you want to use?

Select the prediction definition that you want to apply to the datasets of the Financial Analytics app that you select in the first question.

Note:

Only prediction definitions that are set to minimize the Days to Pay field and have an active model associated are available for selection in the question.
3 How many overdue day ranges do you require for your collections and payments aged analysis reports? Enter the number of ranges that you want to create. You can change the days for each range on your Cash Flow Forecast - Intelligence dashboard.

When you run the Intelligence Analytics app template to create an app, a recipe is generated. This recipe is named according to the app name you provide, followed by Intelligence Analytics. The following dashboard and dataset are also generated:
