Automatically Create a Service Contract

You can automatically create a service contract from a customer quote at the same time that you create the sales order from the customer quote.

This functionality covers the following types of customer quotes:

• Inventory
• Drop ship
• Flex contract
• Service contract

Setup

To setup your organization to auto create a service contract:

1. In App Setup, click .
2. From the drop down list click Custom Settings.
3. Click Manage adjacent to the Organization Settings label.
4. Click Edit.
5. Select the Auto Create Service Contract checkbox.
6. Click Save.
7. Make sure the Create Sales Order button has been added to the Customer Quotation page layout.

Automatically Create a Service Contract

To automatically create a service contract:

1. Go to the customer quote that you want to create the service contract for.
2. Click Create Sales Order.

The sales order and associated service contract will be created simultaneously.
