Mapping OIM Line Types to Salesforce Products

For processes such as exporting Order and Inventory Management invoices and credit invoices to Accounting, or exporting Order and Inventory Management invoices as billing documents to Foundations, the lines on the exported records must be associated with a Salesforce product.

Mapping Item Line Types to Salesforce Products

You can link item line types to Salesforce products either directly using the Product field on the item master associated with the item line type or using Order and Inventory Management product groups. Product groups enable you to associate an item master with a Salesforce product. If you decide to use product groups, you will need to create the product group first and then associate it with the item master.

Creating a Product Group

Create a product group as follows:

From the Codes tab:

  1. Go to the Codes tab.
  2. Click the Product tab.
  3. Click New.
  4. Enter a name for the product group.
  5. Enter a meaningful description for the product group.
  6. Select the Salesforce product for the product group.
  7. Click Save.
Note:

If Order and Inventory Management – Accounting Connector is installed in your org, you must also populate the fields required by the connector. for more information, see Product Group Fields.

Associating a Product Group with an Item Master

To associate a product group with an item master:

  1. Go to the Items tab.
  2. Select the item number you want.
  3. Select the product group you want to associate the item master with.
  4. Click Save.

Mapping Other OIM Line Types

When transferring lines that are not associated with an item master, you must create a mapping record for the lines in Order and Inventory Management that you require to map to Salesforce products. The line types you can create a mapping for are the following:

  • Deposit
  • Discount (use this option if the line belongs to an invoice with an applied discount)
  • Freight
  • Labor
  • Miscellaneous
  • Tax

To create a mapping record that maps an OIM line type to a Salesforce product:

  1. Go to the OIM Line Type to Product Mappings tab.
  2. Click New.
  3. Select the line type you want to map.
  4. Select the Salesforce product you want to map the OIM line type to.
  5. Click Save.
