Quick-start Guide

This section outlines the first installation of Planning and Analysis. You must be logged in as an administrator or equivalent to perform the setup. Click a related help topic link and complete the tasks in that topic.

Planning Setup Tasks

Most of the setup for the Planning and Analysis application is done via the Planning Setup tab. Depending on your requirements, you can configure directly from individual pages or Setup. Setup is used to create or set base structure elements such as dimensions, periods, general reports, and so on. The Planning Setup starts on the Planning Links page and hides after one report is created. After that, you can get it in the Planning Setup tab.

Permissions

You must assign the following permission sets to users for access to Planning and Analysis:

Permission Set Name Description
Planning - Business Analytics Read Access View all data access to objects and fields derived from Planning and used in the Financial Transactions and Financial Balances datasets.
Planning - Manage Headcount Create, edit, and delete all the payroll line records.
Planning - Manage Planning Manage administrator configuration activities for Planning and Analysis, including creating mapping rules, using budgets, importing data, editing dimensions, and mapping and syncing accounts.
Planning - View Headcount View all relevant records of the payroll line records.

Additional Permissions

In addition to the Planning and Analysis permission sets, you also need to assign the following permission sets.

FDN Common Concepts Enables the use of Exchange Rates.
Analytic and Financial Statement Read Access

Enables the creation of a budget by utilizing the Accounting data and accessing the following objects:

  • Reporting Balances
  • Accounting Companies
  • Periods
  • Years
  • Budgets
  • Balances
  • Dimensions 1-4 - Assign Read and View All access.
  • Accounting Currencies
  • General Ledger Accounts
CRM Analytics Platform User To properly view the Workspace and report, ensure that the Analytics Analytics application containing the FinancialBalance dataset is shared with the you.
Financial Report Builder Allows to view the Workspace properly.
