Mapping Rules Users Upgrading to Summer 2022

If you are using a version of Planning and Analysis that predates the Summer 2022 release, to use the new Mapping Rules previously known as Posting Rules, you must complete the following to manage the existing mapping rules in your org.

Adding the Source Field to the Mapping Rules Page Layout

To do this, perform the following steps:

Note: If you are using Safari, you must switch to Salesforce Classic..
  1. From Setup, navigate to Object Manager | Mapping Rule.
  2. Click Page Layouts.
  3. Click Posting Rule Layout.
  4. In the Quick Find field, search for Source. Drag-and-drop the Mapping Rule Detail action into Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions.
  5. Click Save.

Creating Mapping Rule Tab

To do this, perform the following steps:

  1. From Setup, search for Tabs.
  2. In the Object field, select "Mapping Rule" from the picklist.
  3. In the Tab Style, add the color for the tab style and click Next.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Click Save.

Viewing the Source Field on the Existing Posting Rule Template

To do this, perform the following steps:

  1. From the App Launcher, do one of the following:
    1. On the Links page, click Modeling Rules | Mapping Rules.
    2. On the Planning Workspace tab, in the Navigation Pane, click Mapping Rules.
  2. Open the Default Posting Rule Template or any mapping rule created in your org.
  3. Click the Details tab and click next to the Source field to manage or edit the existing managed mapping rule.
  4. Select Planning and click Save.
