Revenue Contract - Manage Obligations

When you click the Manage Obligations button on a revenue contract, this page opens displaying all the performance obligations linked to the revenue contract.

Button

Button Description
Back to Contract Displays the revenue contract detail page. If there are unsaved changes a message is displayed asking you to confirm that you want to leave the current page.
Update Updates the whole revenue contract by updating all performance obligation line items from their source records, updating each performance obligation from its controlling POLIClosed A performance obligation line item which is used to populate certain fields (such as Account and Description) on the parent performance obligation. A performance obligation might have separate controlling POLIs for revenue and cost values. for revenue or cost values (as appropriate), and allocating revenue afresh for the whole revenue contract. (The Update button label changes to Save when there are changes to save.)
Save

Saves your changes and updates the whole revenue contract. A POB number is generated for any new performance obligation. All performance obligation line items are updated from their source records, each performance obligation is updated from its controlling POLIClosed A performance obligation line item which is used to populate certain fields (such as Account and Description) on the parent performance obligation. A performance obligation might have separate controlling POLIs for revenue and cost values. for revenue or cost values (as appropriate), and revenue is allocated afresh for the whole revenue contract. (The Save button label changes to Update when there are no changes to save.)

Add Add another performance obligation to the revenue contract. A popup opens for you to select the source records you want to add to the performance obligation. See Select Source Records Fields for more information.

Grid

The performance obligations linked to the revenue contract are listed in this grid. The columns displayed by default are documented below.

Key: R – Read-only

Column   Description
Performance Obligation   The auto-generated number that uniquely identifies the performance obligation.
Source Records  

The name of the source record on the controlling POLI linked to the performance obligation. This is derived from the controlling POLI for revenue values, or from the controlling POLI for cost values if there isn't one for revenue.

If multiple source records are linked to the performance obligation, +<number> is displayed and indicates how many other records are selected. You can click the icon to view or change the source records attached to the performance obligation. Clicking on the source record name itself opens the source record in a new tab.

Description R The description of this performance obligation.
Information R Further information about the performance obligation.
Revenue R Sum of revenue values from all linked performance obligation line items.
Cost R Sum of cost values from all linked performance obligation line items.
SSP  

The standalone selling price that will be used for this performance obligation. A blue vertical bar in the cell indicates that it is an overridden value. When you edit the value in this cell, any Allocated Revenue values that are not overridden will be blanked out because they will need to be recalculated. If you hover the cursor over an overridden SSP you can click Reset to reset it to the Total SSP value.

Allocated Revenue  

The amount of revenue allocated to this performance obligation. A blue vertical bar in the cell indicates that it is an overridden value. When you edit the value in this cell, any other Allocated Revenue values that are not overridden will be blanked out because they will need to be recalculated. If you hover the cursor over an overridden Allocated Revenue value you can click Clear Override to clear the value so that it is calculated automatically next time Allocate Revenue is run.

Recognition Template   The recognition template to use for this performance obligation when running the recognize process. You can change the template by clicking in this cell and selecting an alternative from the list that appears. As you start typing, the list filters to match your search string so that you can find the template you want more easily.
Revenue Recognized to Date R The amount of revenue recognized to date for this performance obligation.
Cost Recognized to Date R The amount of cost recognized to date for this performance obligation.
Recognition Complete R When checked, indicates that all the revenue and cost for this performance obligation has been recognized.
Ready for Recognition R Indicates whether this performance obligation can be recognized.

Hover over a column heading and an arrow appears. Click the arrow to change how data in the column is sorted (in ascending or descending order) and to select which columns are displayed on screen; more columns are available than are displayed by default. To revert to the default column layout, choose Reset Layout.
