Sharing Reports

You can import or export the configuration set for one or more reports in CSV or JSON file format via the Share Report Definitions page.

The following details are exported to your downloaded file. This file can then be imported into another org and enables you to replicate the functionality of the original reports contained in the source org in the destination org.

Note:

Before uploading and importing your report definitions, we recommend that you review them to ensure that app and dataset details match between your source and target orgs, in order to avoid errors. For more information, see Importing Report Definitions.

Report Detail

Description
Description The description specified for the report.
Number of Filter Configurations The number of filter configurations specified for the report.
Filter Configuration X Details of any filter configurations applied to the report.
Group The group specified for the report.
Report Name The name specified for the report.
Report Type The type of report.
Show Soft Date Filter Configuration Indicates whether the soft date filter configuration is displayed.
Soft Date Filter Configuration The soft date filter configuration specified for the report.
Number of Table Configurations The number of table configurations specified for the report.
Table Configuration X Details of any table configurations applied to the report.
Show Current Period Date Override Indicates whether Show Current Period Date Override is displayed in the report layout.

Exporting Report Definitions

To export a report definitions file, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Share Report Definitions page.
  2. Select the Export tab
  3. Specify a name for your report download.
  4. Select one or more reports for download. Depending on your report selections, the following details are displayed under Report Definitions Summary:
    1. Table datasets. The datasets specified for your report.
    2. Drill table datasets. The target table datasets specified for one or more levels of drill.
    3. Table lenses.The lenses specified for your report.
    4. Drill table lenses. The lenses specified in your drill tables.
  5. Click Download CSV File or Download JSON File to download your report in your preferred file format.

Importing Report Definitions

To import a report definitions file, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Share Report Definitions page.
  2. Select the Import tab.
  3. Click Upload Files to import the JSON or CSV file with your report definitions. Alternatively, you can drag and drop your selected JSON or CSV file.
  4. Select the report definitions you want to import from the list displayed.
  5. Click Import.
