Common Settings

The Common Settings custom setting contains the settings for column preferences across multiple UIs in PSA and for the day to use as the start of the week.

Field Description

Default

Use sObject for Column Preferences Determines whether PSA uses the Column Preferences sObject to store user column preferences. False
Week Start Day Determines the day to use as the start of the week. If you specify a value of Default, the Apex Date.toStartWeek function is used to calculate the start of the week.
  • In utilization calculations this is used to determine what This Week and Last Week are. For instance, when scheduling utilization calculations if you set the Historical Utilization Cut-Off Date on the Utilization Calculator page to End of Last Week and the Week Start Day is Sunday, each time the calculation runs the cut-off date is the day before that.
  • In backlog calculations, Week Start Day field determines how the Start Calculating From field works. For instance, if you set the Start Calculating From field on the Calculate Backlog field to Start of This Week and the Week Start Day is Sunday, the Start Date is set to the most recent Sunday. This is used to determine the relative start date when scheduled backlog calculations run.
  • When generating missing timecards this setting is used to determine the week start day when missing timecards are generated.
Note:

If the setting is overridden for a particular user, that Week Start Day is only applied to utilization calculations, backlog calculations and missing timecard calculations that are initiated by that user.
