Account and Account Type Settings
Some aspects of Accounting are controlled by custom settings. From Setup, click Develop | Custom Settings. You must be signed in with system administrator permissions to perform these tasks. See the Salesforce Help for information on how to maintain custom settings.

Account Balance Report URL |
Target of the link on the Account Balance section on the Account detail page. First run the Account Balance Report (in Certinia Period Close Reports) and then copy the report ID part of the URL from the address bar to the clipboard. In the Account Balance Report URL field, paste the report ID preceded by a “/”. For example, if the report ID is 00O0o00000BtbZg, you must enter: /00O0o00000BtbZg |
You can also use the Account Type Settings list-type custom setting to establish defaults for specific and non-specific account types.
Key: * – Mandatory field; The control GLAs for specific account types are optional but you must enter at least one for the setting to be meaningful.

Name | * | The type of account that you want to configure default control GLAs for. Use the name "Default" to indicate an account type of "None". Remember that custom setting values are case sensitive. |
Default AP Control | Name of the accounts payable (AP) general ledger account you want to use as a default on an account of the corresponding type. | |
Default AR Control | Name of the accounts receivable (AR) general ledger account you want to use as a default on an account of the corresponding type. | |
Default Expense Control | Name of the expense control general ledger account you want to use as a default on an account of the corresponding type. |
You can override any of the default general ledger accounts on the account and your change will be respected.
