Reversing Multiple Journals
You can reverse multiple manual journals using the Create Canceling/Reversing Journals button in the Journals list view.
You can only reverse manual journals that have the status of "Complete" or "In Progress", and have not already been reversed. Reversing journals are posted to the period following the period of the source journal. If you want to change the period, you must save the reversing journal and edit the period manually before you post it.
To reverse multiple journals:
- Navigate to the Journals page.
- [Optional] Load an appropriate list view to display journals that are eligible for being reversed. Only manual journals with the status of "Complete" or "In Progress", and that have not already been reversed, can be reversed.
- Select the journals that you want to reverse, then click Create Canceling/Reversing Journals. The Canceling Journals page lists the journals that can be canceled.
- Select Reverse. The page title changes to Reversing Journals and the list is refreshed. If your selection included any journals that cannot be reversed they are excluded from the list.
- Click Save to create reversing journals for the journals that are listed. Or click Save & Post to create the reversing journals and post them immediately. The Journals page is updated with the journals that have been created.
You can edit the following fields in the created reverse journals to adjust the values according to the reverse:
- Journal Date. The default value is the first day of the reversal period.
- Period
- Reference
You can reverse journals individually as explained in Creating a Reversing Journal. The Create Canceling/Reversing Journals button simply lets you reverse multiple journals at once.
