Sending Credit Notes by Email
To send a credit note to a specified email address:
- Navigate to the detail page for the document you want to send. You can only send credit notes that have a status of "Complete".
- Click Email PDF. If you don't see this button, either switch to Classic Edition or ask your administrator to add this custom button to Extended Edition. This button is also available on the Sales Credit Notes Lightning page. A copy of the document is created and sent as a PDF attachment to the specified email address. The default email template A form email that communicates a standard message, such as a reminder letter or remittance. Email templates are a standard Salesforce CRM feature. is used, unless you have created your own custom email template.
An event of type "Emailed" is logged in the event log Tells you when an invoice or credit note was printed or sent by email, and who printed/sent it. Not used for mass email communications.. The event log description records the email address to which the message and its attachment were sent.
Messages are sent to the invoice email address specified on the customer account's finance correspondence section. This email address is displayed on the account detail section of the credit note detail page. If an email address is not specified, the request will fail.
