Creating Companies (Accounting QuickStart)

The Accounting QuickStart app is a component of the optional QuickStart package.

Accounting QuickStart is an alternative, guided method of setting up a Certinia company.

It is an optional application (app). If your administratorClosed One or more individuals in your organization who can configure and customize the application. Users assigned the System Administrator profile have administrator privileges. chose not to install it, the standard tabs and setup processes are still available to you. See Data Setup and Management for more information.

To access the app, go to the Force.com app menu in the top-right corner of any Salesforce page and select Accounting QuickStart.

To create a new Certinia company and its associated company data:

  1. Click the QuickStart tab to view the welcome page. If you do not see this tab, contact your administrator.
  2. Follow the guided steps until the end.
  3. Repeat for any other companies in your organization.
Note:

The name of the company queueClosed A location within the underlying Salesforce platform used to represent a company. When you activate a new company, a corresponding company queue is created. must be less than or equal to 37 characters.

Selected fields have context-sensitive help text. This is either shown next to the field itself, or as a pop-up when you hover over the Help icon.

Warning:

There are two options for managing exchange rates when in multi-currency mode:

  • Managing exchange rates in Accounting: if your org is set up to use Accounting exchange rates, you can set up the initial rates and effective dates in Step 5 of the guided steps.
  • Managing exchange rates in Foundations: if the Foundations Exchange Rates Integration feature is enabled for your org, you must check that there is an Exchange Rate Group available to be associated with the new company. You can assign the Exchange Rate Group to the new company in Step 5 of the guided steps.
