Managing Slack Channel Members

The Slack Channel Manager Lightning component enables you to manage Slack channel members from within your Salesforce org. To do this, you need to define how a user is associated with a record. For example, members of a project are defined as anyone who has an assignment on the project.

To specify how users are linked to a record, create a new custom metadata record for the type Slack Channel Configuration. PSA includes the custom metadata type record for Project out of the box. For more information on custom metadata types, see the Salesforce Help.

To manage members of a Slack channel:

1. In the Slack Channel Manager component, select the checkboxes of the users you want to select.
2. Click one of these buttons:
   • Addto invite the selected users to the channel.
   • Remove to remove the selected users from the channel.

Note:

If a user appears in more than one related record, they will only appear once in the list of users.
