Creating a Requisition
You can create requisitions on your organization:
- From the Requisitions tab.
- From a production order.
- From an item master using reorder criteria.
Requisitions are created with a status of Open and are automatically set to a status of Closed when all their line items have a status other than the following:
- Open
- Submitted for Approval
- Approved
- Revised
- Cancelled
Creating a Requisition from the Requisitions Tab
To create a requisition from the Requisitions tab:
- Click New.
- Complete the requisition fields. For more information, see Requisition Fields.
- Click Save.
To add lines to the requisition for the goods or services to be purchased:
- Click New in the Requisition Line Items related list.
- Select the type of requisition line item that you want to create. For information about the available options, see Requisition Lines.
- Click Next.
- Complete the requisition line item fields. For more information, see Requisition Line Item Fields.
- Click Save.
- Repeat the last four steps for each line that you want to add to the requisition.
To create a requisition from the Requisitions tab:
- Click New.
- Complete the requisition fields. For more information, see Requisition Fields.
- Click Save.
When you create a requisition, a line is already added to the Requisition line item with default values.
To add a new line to the requisition for the goods or services to be purchased:
- Click in the Requisition Line Items grid.
- Select the type of requisition line item that you want to create. For information about the available options, see Requisition Lines.
- Click Next.
- Complete the requisition line item fields. For more information, see Requisition Line Item Fields.
- Click Save.
- Repeat the last four steps for each line that you want to add to the requisition.
To create a requisition from the Requisitions tab:
- Click New.
- Complete the requisition fields. For more information, see Requisition Fields.
- Click Save.

- Click New Requisition Line Item in the Requisition Line Items related list.
- Select a record type for the requisition line item. For information about the available options, see Requisition Lines.
- Click Continue.
- Complete the requisition line item fields. For more information, see Requisition Line Item Fields.
- Click Save.
- Repeat the last four steps for each line that you want to add to the requisition.
Depending on the approval process that your organization uses, click Submit for Approval when the requisition is ready for approval.
Creating a Requisition from a Production Order
To create a requisition from an approved production order that contains lines for which a backorder Backorders are created when a sales order is approved and the order cannot be fulfilled because there is no inventory available for one or more items on the sales order. A backorder is also created when an item on a sales order is a manufactured kit and requires a production activity to be carried out on it to turn it into the finished product. exists:
- Enter a Material Warehouse from which materials will be pulled for this order.
- Click Create Requisition.
Depending on the approval process that your organization uses, click Submit for Approval when the requisition is ready for approval.
Requisitions Created from Reorder Criteria
To create requisitions based on the reorder criteria for the item:
- Click ReOrder Process.
- Click Return.
