Shipping Items
Items can be shipped once they have been picked. Shipments that are ready to be shipped are listed on the different sections of the Action Queues Shipping tab as follows:

To complete the shipping process in Order and Inventory Management you must perform the following steps:
- Add carrier and fees to the shipment.
- Only for items with Inbound Outbound Serial Number Control: pack the shipment.
- Confirm the shipment.
Once a shipment is confirmed, it is no longer displayed on the Shipping tab and its status is set to "Shipment Complete".

Using Lightning Experience
To ship items in Lightning:
- Click the Shipping tab. This tab belongs to the Action Queues app and you can search for it using the App Launcher.
- Do one of the following:
- If you are shipping items for a sales order, click the Ship Material to Customer subtab.
- If you are shipping items on service purchase order lines, click the Ship Material to Supplier subtab.
- If you are shipping items for a transfer to another warehouse, click the Transfer Parts to Warehouse subtab.
- Work through the steps described below.
Step 1: Add Carrier and Fees
To specify the carrier and fees for a shipment:
- Select the shipment that you want to add the carrier and fees to.
- Click Add Carrier and Fees.
- On the Add Carrier and Fees window that opens, select a carrier from the Carrier drop-down field.
- [Optional] Complete the remaining fields. For more information, see Shipping Fields.
- Click Save.
Step 2: Pack the Shipment for Items with Inbound Outbound Serial Number Control
- From the Shipment column, open the shipment that you want to pack.
- On the shipment record, click Pack.
- Click Serial Numbers List.
- Select the checkboxes of the serial numbers that you want to include. Alternatively, you can click Select numbers according to quantity to automatically select a quantity of serial numbers that matches the item quantity in the shipment (serial numbers are selected in alphabetical order).
- Click Save.
- Back on the packing page, click Save.
- Return to the subtab that you initially selected by clicking the Shipping tab and then the corresponding subtab.
Step 3: Confirm the Shipment
To confirm a shipment:
- Select the shipment that you want to confirm, if it is not already selected.
- [Optional] Click Print to see a print preview of the packing slip for the selected shipment. You can print or download this preview using the options in your browser.
- Click Confirm.
To help you keep track of your printed packing slips, the Printed field shows a check mark after you click Print for a shipment and the print preview of the packing slip opens. Note that the check mark shows once the print preview opens, whether you print the preview from your browser or not is not controlled by the field.
Using Classic or Lightning Visualforce Pages
To ship items:
- Click the Action Queues tab.
- Click the Shipping tab.
- Go to one of the following sections:
- Ship Material to Customer if you are shipping items for a sales order.
- Ship Material to Supplier if you are shipping items for a purchase order with service lines.
- Transfer Parts to Warehouse if you are shipping items for a transfer to another warehouse.
- Click Add Carrier on the shipment that you want to send.
- In the Carrier field, select a carrier from the drop-down list.
- [Optional] Complete the remaining fields.
- Click Save.
- If the item has Inbound Outbound Serial Number Control:
- Click the shipment number.
- Click Pack.
- Click Serial Numbers List.
- Select the checkboxes of the serial numbers that you want to include. Alternatively, you can click Select numbers according to quantity to automatically select a quantity of serial numbers that matches the item quantity in the shipment (serial numbers are selected in alphabetical order).
- Click Save.
- Click Save.
- Return to the Shipping tab on the Action Queues tab.
- Select the checkbox next to the shipment.
- Click Confirm.
