What can I do in Order and Inventory Management?
Order and Inventory Management consists of several apps that enable you to manage inventory in your distribution centers and warehouses, acquisition process, order fulfillment and receiving and shipping items.
Inventory Management
The Inventory Management App allows you to manage the inventory Stock. Products or services that are available to buy or items that form part of a product or service. Where the item is tangible such as hardware, that item may be held in a warehouse as stock, or ordered directly from a supplier when a customer places an order. in your Inventory Control Points (ICP Inventory Control Point. A distribution center or place around the globe that inventory items are controlled from. An ICP may have one or more warehouses.s) and warehouses. You can use this app to manage your inventory, order fulfillment and tasks to be carried out at each warehouse. You can track inventory in many ways including:
- serial numbers
- lot numbers
- shelf life
You can describe warehouse inventory locations down to five levels deep to locate the whereabouts of Inventory.
The inventory management app essentially manages action queues of work for warehouse, shipping and receiving tasks. Order and Inventory Management can integrate with other system to extend warehouse management capabilities when required.
Your organization can choose different behavior for items depending on whether they are tangible such as hardware or intangible such as software or a service.
You can use the cycle counting feature to verify or audit the accounts of inventory to look at when it was last touched, whether the items on the shelf match those in the system.
You can allocate Inventory using methods such as First In First Out - the first piece entering the warehouse is the first piece to be allocated to an order. Hard Allocation - sold but not yet shipped.
Acquisition
The Acquisition Process app allows you to manage the ways in which your company buys items. You can raise requisitions, generate purchase orders, keep records of suppliers and supplier sites. You can process receipt of acquired inventory and put away. You can also generate Accounts Payable Vouchers and credits for conversion to payable invoices and credit notes in your accounting system.
Order Fulfillment
The Order Fulfillment process app allows you to manage incoming orders and allocate inventory to sales orders.
Receiving and Shipping
The Receiving and Shipping app allows you to manage shipping of allocated inventory on sales orders and manage incoming inventory that has been ordered or transferred from one warehouse to another.
