Restrictions on Editing Dataviews
When a dataview has been attached to either an action view template or a summarization template, there are some restrictions on what you can edit:
- You cannot delete the dataview. You must detach it from the template first.
- You cannot delete fields from the dataview if they are in use by a template. You must remove them from the template first.
- You cannot edit fields in the dataview if they are in use by a template. You must remove them from the template first. There are a couple of exceptions to this rule:
- You can assign a common name if one has not already been assigned.
- You can select checkboxes such as Aggregatable and Reversible, but you cannot deselect them.
- You can continue to add fields to the dataview provided that they do not duplicate existing fields.
