What is a Bank Format Mapping?
A bank format mapping works with a bank format definition to describe how the information in the bank file is populated. It answers questions such as:
- Where do I get the data for the bank file from?
- Which decimal separator character can I use?
- Which date format can I use?
You can only have one bank format mapping for each bank format definition. They exist in a 1-to-1 relationship.
A bank format mapping is made up of the following objects:
- Bank Format Mappings
- Bank Format Mapping Record Types
- Bank Format Mapping Fields
A Bank Format Mapping Joins object exists in a master-detail relationship with the top-level Bank Format Mapping object. For more information, see What is a Bank Format Mapping Join?.
The reference topics listed at the end of this page provide more details on each object.
Bank format mappings cannot work on their own. They need a corresponding set of bank format definition objects to form the basis of a bank file generation. See What is a Bank Format Definition? for more information.
