Deleting an Asset

You can delete assets with the status "New", "Rejected", or "Recalled", however for auditing reasons we strongly recommend that you dispose of the asset.

Note:

Even if you create a fixed asset record in error , we recommend that you dispose of the asset instead of deleting it. If an asset has been approved or is active, you cannot delete it. In this situation you must dispose of it. See Disposing of an Asset.

Deleting a Single Fixed Asset

To delete a single fixed asset:

  1. Click Delete on the Fixed Asset Detail page of the asset you want to delete or click Delete next to the asset you want to delete on the fixed asset list view.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click Return.

Deleting Multiple Fixed Assets

To delete multiple fixed assets:

  1. Click the Fixed Assets tab.
  2. Choose a view from the drop-down list to select the records to display.
  3. Select the checkboxes of the assets that you want to delete.
  4. Click Delete. The Fixed Asset Mass Deletion page lists the assets that can be deleted, and identifies any assets that are not eligible to be deleted. If this button is not available, contact your administrator, or see the Salesforce Help for more information about adding buttons to list views.
  5. Click Delete.
Note:

If the asset's status is not New, Rejected or Recalled, you cannot delete the asset.
