Setting up the OIM to Fixed Asset Management Integration for Capital Expenditure
To configure Order and Inventory Management and Fixed Asset Management to use the Capital Expenditure (CapEx) integration, you must complete the steps in this topic. This includes enabling features in the Feature Console. The Feature Console simplifies the setup tasks for some Certinia features.

Ensure Fixed Asset Management to Accounting Integration Is Enabled
To use the OIM to Fixed Asset Management integration for Capital Expenditure, you must first configure the Fixed Asset Management to Accounting integration. This integration enables you to share asset information to Accounting.

Check or Update General Ledger Mappings
You must ensure that Order and Inventory Management and Fixed Asset Management both use the same general ledger account in Accounting for capital equipment purchases so that they are properly accounted for.
Verify that the following account fields contain the same general ledger account. To update the account fields, you require permissions to edit the listed objects.

Enable the OIM to FAM for Capital Expenditure Feature
To configure Order and Inventory Management, follow the OIM to FAM for Capital Expenditure feature steps on the Feature Console tab.
The OIM to FAM for Capital Expenditure feature enables you to:
- Register Order and Inventory Management with Foundations and, if already registered, update the registration
- Create and enable the required publications and subscriptions
- Add the Asset Group and Asset Sub-Group fields to the Product Group page layout
- Add the Accounting Date field to the AP Voucher Matched page layout
- Add the Capital Equipment and Is Capital Equipment fields to AP Voucher Line page layout
- Add the Is Capital Equipment field to the AP Voucher Line field set
Enable the FAM Capital Expenditure Integration Feature
To configure Fixed Asset Management, follow the FAM Capital Expenditure Integration feature steps on the Feature Console tab.
The FAM Capital Expenditure Integration feature enables you to:
- Register Fixed Asset Management with Foundations and, if already registered, update the registration
- Create and enable the required publications and subscriptions
When the feature is enabled, asset groups and asset sub-groups are synchronized with Order and Inventory Management.
