Output Builder Overview

Certinia Output Builder provides a simple mechanism that allows users to view, save and send highly customized and sophisticated reports, based on Certinia or Salesforce objects. With Output Builder you can create "output templates" to share data from your organization in the format that your users want, including Excel, HTML email, PDF, Word or XML. In fact, you can code any generic XML for the body of your reports, combined with a powerful Output Builder markup, to customize them as much as you want.

Note:

Output Builder supports notes and attachments but does not support Salesforce files.

Output Builder stores a history of outputted reports on the source object, so you can view the information sent to a contact. You can use Certinia Output Builder to create professional status reports for your projects. For instance, in PSA you can create a project summary with timecards that you can email to a group of people.

You can also use Output Builder to:

  • Generate email containing information located in any Salesforce, PSA or custom object.
  • Implement professional HTML email templates.
  • Define values for specific parameters.
  • View email history directly from a tab or related list that you add to your object.
  • Create multiple-level output lists.
  • Generate batches of reports.
  • Set approval processes on reports.
  • Use a global interface to execute your own code following batch report generation.
  • Use the API to interact with Output Builder reports.
