What is a Performance Obligation Template?

If you use multiple-element arrangements, when creating recognition templates for your source objects you can specify the template to assign to performance obligations created from your source records. The template you specify in the Performance Obligation Rec.Template field is assigned automatically when you create or update a revenue contract:

• Using the Revenue Management API. For more information, see "RevenueContractService" in the Revenue Management API Developer Reference documentation.
• For an engagement record.

If you create performance obligations manually, you must manually populate the Recognition Template field on the performance obligations.
