Managing Products on an Estimate

You can add estimate products to an estimate and manage the estimate products that have already been added using the Manage Products action on an estimate record.

Notes:
  • You cannot add an estimate product to the estimate's related opportunity if the estimate product is not associated with an active price book entry. For more information, see Creating an Estimate Product.
  • Estimate products can't be added to estimate templates that are already added to an estimate product as an estimate product item.
  • Fixed price estimate products or line sets can't be added to estimates with a global discount. Similarly, a global discount can't be set on an estimate with any fixed price estimate products or line sets.
  • Estimate phases are not copied from estimate products when you add them to an estimate.

Adding Products to an Estimate

To add a product to an estimate:

  1. On the Estimate Builder, click Manage Products.
  2. Select the estimate product that you want to add to the estimate.
  3. [Optional] Edit the name of the estimate product for this estimate. This is the same name as the estimate product by default.
  4. [Optional] Edit the start date of the estimate product for this estimate. This is the same start date as the estimate by default.
  5. [Optional] Select the billing type of the estimate product for this estimate. This is the same as the default billing type on the selected estimate product by default.
  6. [Optional] If you have selected Fixed Price as the billing type, enter a fixed price margin percentage. This is the same as the default billing type on the selected estimate product by default.
  7. [Optional] Select the currency of the estimate product for this estimate. The currency of all selected estimate products will be converted to their specified currencies.
  8. [Optional] Enter the field values to override for the copied role requests. You can leave any of these fields blank to retain the values on the source record.
  9. Click Add Product.
  10. Repeat steps 2-8 to add all of the estimate products you want to add to the estimate.
  11. Click Save. You will receive a notification when the estimate products have been added to the estimate. Refresh the Estimate Builder to view the estimate products.

Removing Products From an Estimate

You can apply discounts to estimate products with a billing type of Time and Materials.

To remove a product from an estimate:

  1. On an estimate record, click Actions | Services CPQ | Manage Products.
  2. Next to the product you want to remove, click Dropdown arrow in Estimate Builder component, then Delete.
  3. Click Save. You will receive a notification when all of the related records have been added.

Multiplying the Hours of an Estimate Product's Role Requests

The hours multiplier for all estimate products is set as one by default. You can change the value in the Hours Multiplier column of an estimate product to greater than one, to multiply the hours of the associated role requests by that value. For more information, see Estimate Product Fields, Estimate Role Request Fields, and Estimate Builder Lightning Component Properties.

To add an hours multiplier to an estimate product:

  1. On an estimate record, click the Builder tab.
  2. On an estimate product, in the Hours Multiplier column, enter the value you want to multiply the hours of the associated role requests by. The hours on the related role requests are updated. The original hours of the role request are retained in the Original Hours field.
  3. Click Save.
Notes:
  • You cannot enter decimal values into the Hours Multiplier column.
  • You cannot edit the hours of a role request when an hours multiplier is applied to the associated estimate product. To edit the hours, change the hours multiplier value on the associated estimate product to one.
  • When you edit the hours multiplier value of an estimate product, the related role requests' hours in the Hours Breakdown view are respread to reflect the updated value.
