Configuring Dynamic Soft Dates

You can enter dynamic soft dates in your soft date custom labels. These enable you to use conditions based on the current date to qualify on data. Here is a description of the available dynamic period formats in the Soft Dates tab.

To use dynamic soft dates:

  1. In your table configuration, navigate to the Soft Dates tab.
  2. Activate the Soft Dates toggle.
  3. Select a soft date dimension.
  4. Select a time period and start time.
  5. [Optional] Select a date override. For more information, see Configuring Filters in xRB Reports.
  6. Click Add Period Format.
  7. Select a dynamic soft date.
  8. For the custom label, enter one of the following:
    • Cumulative
    • Year to Date
    • Opening Balance
    • Note:

Opening Balance and Year to Date cannot be selected at the same time.

  9. Enter the following custom label: {value}. This custom label displays the corresponding date, for example, 2024 - April.
  10. Note:

You can also enter {valueend} in the Custom Label field. This replaces the custom label with the last day of the dynamic soft date period format selected. For example, if your selected time period is "Month", the first one is January, you select "Current Year (Quarter)", and it is currently Quarter 1 of 2024, your custom label displays as 03/31/2024.

  11. Click Save.
