Background Process Fields

Here is a description of the fields on the Background Process object.

Background Process Fields
Field Name Description
Background Process Name of the background process.
Consolidation Grouping Method

Lookup to the grouping method used for the background process to group billing documents for consolidation.

Note:

Only available when the record type is set to "Consolidation".
Consolidation Rule

Lookup to the consolidation rule used by the background process to filter and group billing documents for consolidation.

Note:

Only available when the record type is set to "Consolidation".
Description Descriptive name of the background process.
End Time Time and date when the background process ended.
Job ID Unique identifier of the background job used by the background process.
Record Type

Type of background process. This value depends on the action that started the process. The available options are:

  • "Calculate Tax with Avalara"
  • "Consolidation"
  • "Undo Consolidation"
Start Time Time and date when the background process started.
Status

Current status of the background process. This can be:

  • "In Progress" - billing documents are being processed.
  • "Complete" - billing documents have been processed successfully.
  • "Completed with Errors" - tax was calculated was successfully for some, but not all of the billing documents. Only applicable when the record type is "Calculate Tax with Avalara".
  • "Error" - one or more billing documents could not be processed, review the background process log for more information.

Background Process Buttons
Button Description
View Logs

Displays the Background Process Logs page where you can view more detailed information about the background process.

Note:

In Lightning Experience, the contents of the Background Process Logs page are displayed in the Logs tab on the background process record page. The View Logs button is therefore unnecessary and can be removed from the page layout.
