Change the Analysis Item Record Type

Changing the record type that the analysis item belongs to changes the category it is associated with. For example, if your business changes its categorization system, you might need to restructure your analysis items.

To change the record type to which the analysis item belongs:

  1. Navigate to the Analysis Items tab.
  2. Find the analysis item you want to view and click the name of the analysis item to view the record.
  3. Click Show actions and click Change Record Type in the drop-down menu.
  4. Select the record type that you want this analysis item to belong to.
  5. Click Next.
  6. [Optional] Change the name and reporting code.
  7. Click Save.
Note:

If a value has been saved in an analysis item lookup, it remains on the record after you change the associated record type. We recommend that you run a report to identify any affected values that could result in an invalid combination of record type and value.
