Bill of Material Fields

If an item is a Manufactured KitClosed or Virtual KitClosed, it may contain a bill of materials that make up the item. The parent bill of materials for an item may contain several child bills of material.

Here is a description of the fields that make up a Bill of Materials.

Key: * – Mandatory field; R – Read-only.

Bill of Material Fields
Field   Description
Bill of Material Name   Unique name of the BOM.
Condition Code   Condition code of the item to be used.
Expected Percent Yield   Estimate of the quantity to result from a production order. You can enter the actual value on completion of a production order. This field only applies to parent bill of material records for manufactured kits.
Item   The item to which the bill of materials relates
Item Description   Description of the item
Level   The level of the BOMClosed. A level 1 BOM is a Parent BOM. A level 2 BOM is a child BOM. Only two levels of BOM are allowed. For instance a BOM can be made up from several child BOMs, however each child BOM cannot be made up from another BOM.
Parent BOM   Parent BOM to which this BOM relates. This field is blank when the BOM is the parent.
Quantity Per Assembly   Number of the item that goes into the parent item or bill of materials.
Unit of Measure R Stocking UOMClosed of the item.

Bills of Material

The Bills of Material related list shows the bill of materials that make up this bill of materials. For instance, if a parent bill of materials is for a toothbrush, this list might show the bills of material toothbrush body, battery and toothbrush head.
