Creating Production Orders from a Sales Order

When you allocate the sales order, configurable manufactured kit items are placed on backorder.

Note:

Enabling the Configurable checkbox on an item master enables to add configurable options to the associated item.

You can then create production orders to schedule production of the items.

Note:

You can only create production orders from a sales order for items that are configurable manufactured kits. For non configurable manufactured kits, use the standard production order process.

To create the production orders for those items from the sales order:

  1. Allocate the sales order.
  2. Submit the sales order for approval.
  3. When the sales order is approved, click Create Production Orders.
Note:

If after creating production orders for a sales order, you decide to cancel a sales order line associated with a production order, you must first complete or cancel that production order.

You cannot add new lines to a production order that has been approved and picked.
