Time-Based Budget Consumption Fields

You can view the PSA Time-Based Budget Consumption grid in the Consumption tab of a budget record, although an administrator can configure it to be displayed elsewhere on the page.

The grid provides a list of the timecard splits that are consuming the budget. The permissions required to use this component are listed in Permissions for the Time-Based Budget Consumption Lightning Component.

Note:

This feature is only supported if PSA is configured to track the consumption of individual budgets. For more information, see Track Consumption of Individual Budgets.

Grid

The following columns are displayed in the Time-Based Budget Consumption grid. The values in these columns are derived from the respective fields in the related timecard split record.

Time-Based Budget Consumption Grid Columns
Name Description
Name The name of the timecard split. You can click to navigate to the timecard split's record page.
Assignment The assignment that the timecard split belongs to. You can click to navigate to the assignment.
Milestone The milestone that the timecard split applies to. You can click to navigate to the milestone.
Resource The resource that the timecard split applies to. You can click to navigate to the resource.
Start Date The start date for the week that the timecard split covers.
End Date The end date for the week that the timecard split covers.
Amount Allocated

The budget amount consumed by the timecard split.

  • When the budget is of type "Customer Purchase Order" or "Customer Purchase Order Change Request", this is the amount in the timecard split's Total Billable Amount field.
  • When the budget is of type "Internal Budget" or "Internal Budget Change Request", this is calculated by multiplying the timecard split's Total Cost by the percentage specified for the budget on the timecard split's budget allocation.
Hours Allocated

The number of hours allocated to the timecard split record.

  • When the budget is of type "Customer Purchase Order" or "Customer Purchase Order Change Request", this is the hours in the timecard split's Total Hours field.
  • When the budget is of type "Internal Budget" or "Internal Budget Change Request", this is calculated by multiplying the timecard split's Total Hours by the percentage specified for the budget on the timecard split's budget allocation.

Toolbar

The toolbar above the Time-Based Budget Consumption grid contains:

Field or Button Description
Search

Enter a search string then press Enter to find rows where one of the following columns contains the search string:

  • Assignment
  • Milestone
  • Name

The search is case-insensitive.
Open Filter panel Opens the filter panel to enable you to filter the grid.
Note:

Search is not applied to the Resource column due to potential issues in encrypted orgs.

Fields in the Filters Panel
Field Description
Assignment Filters for the selected assignments and displays them in the grid. You can select one or more assignments.
Milestone Filters for the selected milestones and displays them in the grid. You can select one or more milestones that you want to display in the grid.
Resource Filters for the selected resources and displays them in the grid. You can select one or more resources that you want to display in the grid.
Start Date From Filters for timecard splits that start on or after the specified date.
End Date To Filters for timecard splits that end on or before the specified date.

Apply Applies the filters.
Clear Clears all filter fields and removes any applied filters.
