Estimates Versus Actuals Calculations
When the timecard records are logged or updated, the Estimates Versus Actuals (EVA) calculation process is initiated.
The EVA actuals calculation process:
- Updates the Actual Hours and Actual Days fields on the EVA records that are associated with the assignments of the timecard records.
- Calculates the Actual Hours and Actual Days based on the statuses set in the Timecard Statuses field in the Est Vs Actuals custom setting.
The EVA actuals calculation can be performed using either the Full EVA actuals calculation process or the Incremental EVA actuals calculation process.
Estimates Versus Actuals Incremental Calculations
The Incremental EVA actuals calculation process rolls up the specific EVA records linked to updated or saved timecard records, resulting in quicker calculations.
To use the Incremental EVA actuals calculation process for the updated timecards, ensure that you have selected the Calculate EVA Actuals Incrementally checkbox in the Est Vs Actuals custom setting. For more information, see Est Vs Actuals Settings.
Estimates Versus Actuals Full Calculations
The Full EVA actuals calculation process rolls up timecard records based on the submitted or approved statuses and EVA records for the related assignments. It is enabled by default.
In the following scenarios, the Full EVA actuals calculation is performed, even if the Calculate EVA Actuals Incrementally checkbox is selected.
- If the Action: Refresh EVA Hours From Timecards checkbox is selected for the specific assignment.
- If the timecard bill-related information is updated. For example:
- If the Billable or Bill Rate is Daily Rate checkboxes are selected or deselected on the timecard record.
- If the Bill Rate field is updated.
