Mass Linking Project Task Assignments

PSA enables you to link multiple project task assignments Associates a resource or a role with a project task for a defined time period. Use Gantt or Project Task Gantt to assign resources or roles to project tasks., to a resource request or an assignment, or both.

Notes:

• The main procedure is for users of record pages supplied by Certinia from Fall 2020.
• From Fall 2020, if you are not using the pages supplied by Certinia, your administrator can add the PSA Actions: Task-Based Resourcing component to the project record page.
• When Shield Platform Encryption is enabled in your org, you must be as specific as possible when searching for Shield Platform Encryption supported fields to ensure matching results are found.

To link project task assignments:

1. On a project record, click Actions | Task-Based Resourcing | Mass Link Project Task Assignments.
2. [Optional] Click to open and close the Filters. Select the filter criteria to filter the project task assignments and click Apply. The project task assignments that meet your criteria are displayed. See Mass Link Project Task Assignment Fields in Lightning for more information.
3. Click Clear to remove the applied filters.
4. From the Resource Request to Link or Assignment to Link lookups, select the resource request or assignment, or both that you want to link the assignments to.
5. The Resource, Role, Start Date and End Date in the read only fields and filters are automatically populated with the details of the resource request or the assignment selected from the lookups.

For all the lookup fields, you can also click Show All Results for “ ”. The search lookup window opens with the searched string populated in the Search field and displays all related items in the grid.

Select the item from the grid that you want and click Select. The selected item is then displayed in the lookup field. For more information, see Using Advanced Lookup.

Note:

If Shield Platform Encryption is enabled in your org, the records in the Resource, Account, and Opportunity search lookup window are filtered using only the Name field in the grid.

Note: If you select a resource request that is linked to an assignment or an assignment that is linked to a resource request, the read only fields populate the details of the assignment.

6. Select the project task assignments you want to link.
7. Click Link Project Task Assignments.

Tip:

Deselect Include Linked PTAs to exclude project task assignments that are already linked to an assignment or resource request.
