PSA Utilization Dashboard

The PSA Utilization dashboard enables you to:

  • View the Total Utilization percentage KPI.
  • View the PSA scheduled hours.
  • Compare the scheduled hours with the actual hours logged.
  • See which resource has been over or under allocated and the utilization rate for the resource.

The dashboard is created as part of the PS Cloud Advanced Analytics app.

PSA Utilization Dashboard Guide

The PSA Utilization dashboard displays:

  • Data for the current fiscal quarter by default
  • Only current region, practice, and group values for resources

Defines the data displayed in the Utilization By RPG bar chart.

Note: You can only select the region, practice, or group that the calculation is run by. For example, if the calculation is run by region, you cannot select practice or group.

2. Utilization By RPG Bar Chart Displays the total scheduled and actual hours for the value selected in the view by picker (1).

Region = Scheduled Hours + Actual Hours grouped by Region Level 00 and Region Level 01, filtered by Time Period Type = Week, Month, or Quarter and Has Resource = No, where RHierarchyDepth = 01, Region Level 00 ≠ N/A, and Utilization End Date = This fiscal quarter.

Data displayed responds to selections.

3. Utilization KPI Total utilization as a percentage. Total Utilization = (sum of Billable Hours + sum of Credited Hours) / (sum of Calendar Hours - sum of Excluded Hours). None
4. Utilization Time Period Stacked Chart

Displays total scheduled hours and total actual hours by month.

Scheduled Hours and Actual Hours grouped by Utilization End Date = Year-Month, filtered by Time Period Type = Week, Month, or Quarter, Has Resource = Yes, and Utilization End Date = This fiscal quarter.

Data displayed responds to selections.

5. View By Picker for Utilization By Resource or Role Bar Chart Defines the data displayed in the Utilization By resource or role bar chart.

 Displays data by resource.

Utilization By Resource or Role Bar Chart

Displays the total scheduled and actual hours for the value selected in the view by picker (5).

 Scheduled Hours and Actual Hours grouped by Resource Name or Role Name, filtered by Time Period Type = Week, Month, or Quarter, Has Resource = Yes, and Utilization End Date = This fiscal quarter.

7. Utilization Rate Time Period Line Chart Displays utilization target rate and target attainment rate by month. Target Rate = Target Hours / (Calendar Hours - Excluded Hours) grouped by Utilization End Date = Year-Month, filtered by Has Resource = True. None

Target Attainment Rate = Target Rate / (Billable Hours + Credited Hours) / (Calendar Hours - Excluded Hours) grouped by Utilization End Date = Year-Month, filtered by Has Resource = True.

Filters

Source of Filter Options
Date

Select a specific time period to filter by, or select "Custom" to create your own time period to filter by.

Filtered by the Time Period End Date dataset field, but the value from the Time Period Name dataset field is displayed in the picklist.
Group

Select the specific groups to filter by, and apply the relevant operators to include or exclude them from the displayed data.

Dataset field: Group Name
Practice

Select the specific practices to filter by, and apply the relevant operators to include or exclude them from the displayed data.

Dataset field: Practice Name
Region

Select the specific regions to filter by, and apply the relevant operators to include or exclude them from the displayed data.

Dataset field: Region Name
Resource

Select the specific resources to filter by, and apply the relevant operators to include or exclude them from the displayed data.

Role Select the specific resource roles to filter by, and apply the relevant operators to include or exclude them from the displayed data. Dataset field: Resource Role

Time Period Type

Select a specific time period type to filter by. Only the time period types for the selected utilization calculation are available for selection.
