Select Source Records Fields

Here you select the source records you want to add to the performance obligation. The currency of the source records must match the currency used throughout the revenue contract.

You can leave the source and search term fields blank and simply click to list all source records for all source objects. A maximum of 100 records are returned, so enter a search term to return fewer results.

Select a source

Select the source object for the source records you want to add to the performance obligation. When you select a source object, a drop-down list of fields on that source object becomes available so that you can choose a field to search on. (Encrypted fields are not available.) Depending on the fields and their relationship types, you may be able to navigate a path from one field to another until you reach the one you want to search on.

Enter your search term here Enter a search term then click . The search term you enter is matched to the start of the source record name unless you start the search term with a wildcard. You can use the * wildcard to match zero or more characters, or the ? wildcard to match one character.

The search results are listed in this grid.

Fields for Source Records Available to Add to a Performance Obligation
Column Description
Source Record The name on the source record.
Selection Path The path you navigated through to reach the field you searched on.
Information Further information about the source record. Often this is the account name but it can be any useful information.
Description The description of the source record.
Value Type Indicates if this source record has revenue values, cost values, or both.
Moves the source record into the list on the right-hand side of the dialog box, ready for adding to the performance obligation.

Hover over a column heading and an arrow appears. Click the arrow to change how data in the column is sorted (in ascending or descending order) and to select which columns are displayed on screen. When the cursor shape is , drag to adjust the width of the current column or the whole grid. To revert to the default column layout in this grid, choose Reset Layout but note that changes to grid width persist.

Selected Source Records

This grid lists the source records that will be added to the performance obligation when you click OK. Each source record will be linked to a separate performance obligation line item.

Column Description
Removes the source record from this list.
Record Name The name of the source record.
Controlling Revenue Indicates that this source record will be the controlling POLIClosed A performance obligation line item which is used to populate certain fields (such as Account and Description) on the parent performance obligation. A performance obligation might have separate controlling POLIs for revenue and cost values. for revenue values on the performance obligation. By default the first source record you add where the value type is Revenue (or null) is marked as the controlling POLI for revenue values. If you add multiple source records, you can select this checkbox for another record to change the controlling POLI. This checkbox is unavailable if the source record has no revenue value.
Controlling Cost Indicates that this source record will be the controlling POLIClosed A performance obligation line item which is used to populate certain fields (such as Account and Description) on the parent performance obligation. A performance obligation might have separate controlling POLIs for revenue and cost values. for cost values on the performance obligation. By default the first source record you add where the value type is Cost is marked as the controlling POLI for cost values. Button Description
Cancel Abandons your changes and returns you to the Revenue Contract - Manage Obligations page.
OK Adds the selected source records to the performance obligation. A performance obligation line item is created for each source record.
