Refreshing Envestnet Institution Details

You can refresh the institution information details for bank accounts linked to Envestnet on demand through the Bank Connections tab. This functionality allows you to update the information before you import statements, ensuring all bank transactions are up-to-date.

The Envestnet bank integration process, through permission-based, secure authentication, enables Accounting to refresh the information for the selected institutions and accounts. The information is refreshed for all the selected Institution Name, Connected Bank Account, and Bank Account Name linked to your associated institutions in the Refresh Latest Information - Envestnet window. You will receive an email at your linked accounts once the process is complete.

You can refresh the institution information for one or more connected bank accounts belonging to the institutions through the Bank Connections tab:

  1. From the App Launcher, search and select for the Bank Connections tab.
  2. Click Refresh Institution Information - Envestnet in the Bank Connection Actions panel on the Bank Connections tab. The Refresh Institution Information - Envestnet window opens.
  3. Select the Institution Name, Connected Bank Accounts, and Bank Account Name for which you want to refresh the Institution Information. You can also enter the required details in the search bar to view, select, and filter the institutions within the window.
  4. Click Refresh. The refresh process runs in the background. You will receive a notification and an email when the process completes.
Notes:
  • Select at least one institution connected to Envestnet to refresh the information for linked accounts and click Refresh. The request is processed automatically in the background.
  • You will receive an email when the process is complete.
  • A success message is displayed confirming that the refresh process has been launched successfully. You will receive an email with the updated information.
  • An error message appears when:
    • If you do not select an institution or if no institutions are linked.
    • If the Envestnet server connection is unavailable, which is preventing the refresh from completing or an error message is displayed if the Envestnet refresh action is unavailable and a detailed error message with the specific HTTP or Envestnet error code will appear.
  • An information message is displayed if you attempt to launch the refresh action more than once within a 15-minute timeframe.
  • If you are notified that an institution's credentials have not been updated in Envestnet, we recommend that you update these credentials as soon as possible to avoid transaction data loss.
  • Validation may prevent further action in the Refresh Institution Information - Envestnet window, if this occurs, the window closes automatically, and an error message appears.
  • You can specify the maximum number of retry attempts, ranging from zero to nine, with a default of four, for checking an Institution ID's status. This default means the system will check for about five minutes, and it checks internally each minute. Contact the Certinia Customer Support team to change the default value.
