Editing the Dimension Mappings of a Data Source
You can map additional dimensions to an existing data source using the Dimension Mappings related list on the data source record page. This can be useful if you missed a mapping when you created the data source.
Before editing the mappings, ensure that:
- You are assigned the CRM Analytics Platform User permission set.
- You have access to the Analytics dataset that the data source is linked to.
To map a dimension to an existing data source:
- From the Data Sources tab, open the data source to which you want to add the dimension mapping.
- On the record page, click the Mappings tab.
- In the Dimension Mappings related list, click Edit.
- Click
to add a new row to the dimension table.
- Search for and select an Analytics dimension.

Search for and select a dimension that maps to the Analytics dimension.

[Optional] Customize the order of column dimension values applied when creating a plan from the data source. By default, dimension values are added to a plan in ascending order. You can customize the order for dimensions displayed as columns in the plan. Note that this only applies when creating a new plan. To do this:
- Select the dimension mapping whose order you want to customize.

Click Edit Dimension Value Order. If the dimension value order was not customized before, the Edit Value Order window displays the values that the dimension contains in the dataset. If the dimension value order was already customized, the Edit Value Order window displays the custom order.

Reorder the values by dragging and dropping the rows.
- Click Save.
- Repeat steps a to d for each dimension mapping whose value order you want to customize.
- Click Save.
The dimension mapping is now saved and the dimension is available when creating plans from the data source.
