Dimension Mapping Fields

The Dimension Mapping object includes the following fields.

Dimension Mapping Fields
Field   Description
Analytics Dimension Label * The label of the dimension in the Analytics dataset that maps to the WorkGrid dimension.
Analytics Dimension Name API Name * The API name of the dimension in the Analytics dataset that maps to the WorkGrid dimension.
Data Source * The data source that the dimension mapping belongs to.
Dimension * The WorkGrid dimension that maps to the Analytics dimension.
Dimension Mapping ID R The auto-generated ID of the dimension mapping.
Dimension Value Order Chunk 1 - 12  

For system use. The list of dimension values from the Analytics dataset, ordered in the way the values are added to the plan table when creating a plan. If the Dimension Value Order Chunk 1 field is empty, the values are added in ascending order to the plan table.

Note:

This only applies when creating a new plan and if the dimension is used as a column. Rows are always added in ascending order to the plan table, regardless of the value of these fields. In addition, the custom order is not applied when new columns are created by updating a plan with the latest data from Analytics.

The values are wrapped in double quotes and separated by a comma and a white space. If a value contains a double quote, it is escaped using a backslash. The Dimension Value Order Chunk 2 to 12 fields are used when the maximum number of characters is reached in the Dimension Value Order Chunk 1 field.

If you use Datastream to create the dimension mapping and you want to customize the order, you must provide the value in the correct format as explained above.

Example:

If your dimension contains the following values in the dataset:

  • Jan-26
  • Feb-26
  • Mar-26
  • Apr-26
  • May-26

You must provide the following value for the Dimension Value Order Chunk 1 field in the Datastream spreadsheet:
