Estimate Role Requests Overview

You can add role requests to an estimate to plan for the resources that might be needed.

You can add skills, certifications, and skill sets from PSA to your estimate role requests. These skills and certifications are also added to the resource requests that are created when adding an estimate to an opportunity and when a project is created from an estimate and can be copied when creating or adding from an estimate template. A role request is classed as "Time and Materials" unless the billing type of its related estimate line set, or estimate product, is "Fixed Price". If both related records are present, the billing type of the estimate line set takes precedence over the billing type of the estimate product. The same related record also provides the fixed price margin used by a "Fixed Price" role request.

Notes:

Your administrator can disable skills and certifications in Services Estimator using the Disable Estimate Role Skills setting in the Services Estimator custom setting. For more information, see Services Estimator Settings.
If your administrator has customized the Minimum Rating picklist on the Resource Skill Request object, these changes must also be made to the Rating picklist on the Estimate Role Skill Request object to display in Services Estimator.
You can't add duplicate skills, certifications or skill sets to a role skill request.
