Duplicating a Cash Entry

You can create a cash entry by duplicating an existing cash entry. This creates a new "In Progress" cash entry with the same line items but with a new cash entry number.

When you duplicate a cash entry, you can select any specific subsequent open period where the document will be duplicated. The new cash entry is created for the same company and the document date of the duplicated cash entry will be the first day of the open period selected.

When you duplicate multiple cash entries from a closed period, the new cash entries are created for the same company into the next open period. The document date of the duplicated cash entries will be the first day of the next open period.

This table shows examples to illustrate how the duplication date process works duplicating multiple cash entries:

Cash Entry Date and Cash Entry Duplicated Examples with Period Starting the Day 1 of the Month
Cash Entries Date Closed Period Duplicated Cash Entries Date
April 4 2025 04 May 1 2025
April 23 2025 04 May 1 2025
April 4 2025 04 and 05 June 1 2025

To duplicate a cash entry:

Note:
  • [Lightning Experience Only] When you have more than one current company selected, you can duplicate cash entries for any of the currently selected companies. You do not need to change the current company. Administrators can duplicate cash entries for any of their user companies, regardless of their current company selection.
  • You can duplicate a single cash entry on the cash entry´s Lightning page.
  • Duplicating multiple cash entries from a closed period is based on the same core logic as duplicating a single cash entry. However, this action is performed as a batch process, exclusively from the List View.
